Looked at several other brands before purchase. I own several roto-molded coolers (non-orca) but this is my first soft-sided cooler purchase. Needed something size and weight appropriate for airplane travel and hotel stays. Wanted something with a linear top zipper or magnetic closure (thought a zipper in general wouldn’t last) but decided on this particular Orca because of the dimensions, handle, stout-looking shoulder strap and reasonable price. Five pound ice block fits flat and snug in the bottom and I can probably stuff it under an airplane seat if I have to. Once it arrived I was really impressed with the materials and construction. It looks and feels very durable. The only thing I don’t like is the zipper. Very stiff at first but moved a bit smoother after a few applications of the included lubricant. I loaded it up with 7 pounds of block ice and a 12-pack for a weekend trip and it performed really well. Kept the ice blocks partially frozen after two days at room temperature without pre-chilling which is as good if not better than my hard 20-qt cooler that usually goes on road trips. It’s so lightweight that I didn’t even use the shoulder strap. The magnetic rubber handle feels great in the hand and makes the cooler really easy to carry. Overall I’m happy with the purchase and believe it will last many years if the zipper holds together.
