Great Cooler! Believe the Bype

My military son recommended this cooler and I watched gazillion ice challenge videos recommending this, so I finally got mine. I purchased the 35 QT in Seafoam green as white was not in stock. Hubby and I took it out for a test on our weekend trip in blazing hot California. Tip: We pre-cooled it the day before with reusable ice blocks, then filled it with our camp food and drinks. We did not fill it completely full of ice, so we were surprised at how cool this thing stayed four days at the beach. Even in the fourth day, leftover eggs, milk, drinks were still cold. we opened and closed the thing a lot so I’m shocked really. It was super sturdy, and I used it as a seat a few times. Drawbacks are the whale tail latches are a little hard for me and my carpel tunnel. Hope they loosen up. I also has the issue of the lid being stuck tight, but I just released the pressure by opening the drain plug and the lid opened just fine. We are seasoned fishers, campers and have had many coolers over the years. We were both so impressed we went out and got the 75 Qt for longer trips.

Always cold, and has ice

We have this size, the one size down and 2 bag ones. And love them. My son takes the smaller hard side on his 4 wheeler and his friends with Yeti and other coolers are always mad that their ice has melted. The bigger one goes on the boat and in the jeep, always have ice in it the next day. And I live in the South where it is hot. The bag ones are always with us on trips in the car, or grandkids to zoo always ice the next day.

Wish I Knew..

I bought this cooler for my partner, right before a two week camping trip through Montana and Idaho. When I surprised him with the cooler, he laughed and showed me the smaller 26 quart Igloo he had just bought. So we brought them both on the trip to see how they competed. The bullet points? His was less than half the price ($100) and performed better. I have 3 big complaints: 1) The lid does not stay up when open. It is so aggravating for a $300 ice box. 2) The ice starts melting the same day if the thing is not completely packed full to the brim with ice. This is what really made me want to send it back when I saw the cheaper Igloo hold ice for the same about of time. So if you don't plan to pack it full every time, it's useless compared to old school cheaper options. 3) The vacuum seal is no joke. My partner and I TOGETHER had troubles opening it, after it was in the truck bed for a few hours in the sun and the temperature difference made the lid suction so hard we had to pry it open as a team. And we are atheletes. I don't think I would be able to open it on my oen without a tool for leverage.

It does hold two bags of block ice perfectly to one side, which is nice. I also love that it's made in the USA and the look of it is sharp. Their return policy is terrible. There is none. With most companies like REI and Yeti offering incredible return policies, this is a major downside, and I wish I could return this thing, or at least exchange it for a smaller one.

Steaks from Tx to Wv

I was moving back from Tx to Wv after the loss of my husband and I wanted to bring back as many steaks as possible. And I filled up my Orca and to my happiness 2 days later they were still frozen.

I didn’t open the cooler for the 2 day trip.
